SRTI Park with the collaboration of Barrabés Middle East and the patronage of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructures of the UAE, has launched recently the MEA Energy Innovation Hub, a global initiative to foster and accelerate an ecosystem that creates opportunities within the energy, low carbon, and oil & gas sectors.  
Specifically, among the first programs of the Hub, the MEA Energy Innovation Virtual Hackathon challenges university students and teachers from around the world to identify and co-create innovative solutions that provide a multidisciplinary and socially beneficial response to the most immediate energy challenges.  
The call for ideas is open until May 6 and the best 15 ideas will compete on a 48-hour virtual event to prototype the business model of those ideas in May 25-26. 
The best 3 ideas between the 15 selected to participate in the hackathon will be awarded with a prize of $5,000, $3,000, and $2,000 as determined by the program's jury.
